Days of the past

When I woke today, I had an issue that was on my mind.  I had paid my rent on the apartment using bill pay from my bank, I knew better but I still was trying to use services that were provided.  I do not use paper checks, do not believe in them.  We had a holiday, so the delivery was moved around by the bank in the processing.  Well it was a sizable value and I know the three day rule of the apartments lease.  The check had cleared the bank but not delivered as of yesterday, today when the mail was delivered, my check was delivered and I was sitting in the office.  I was so relieved.

I had to purchase a new printer this morning, the old one for some reason had a failure code of 97 and I could not find the problem.  I got a cheap HP but full function, heck it even has its own email.  I guess I can go online 1000 miles away and go on line and print at home.  What is this world coming to, a machine with an email.

Now, as I do this, I have Elvis on YouTube doing his Gospel songs.  He for sure was good at that, of course I guess it did not pay as well as Rock n Roll.  I saw one of his concerts once in 1976 in Omaha, NE, the same year that I joined the Navy.

Days of the past…miss those days but life moves on for the good or bad.

WOW, what am I

  • I wake at 4:40 AM, my routine begins
  • I leave home at 5:30 AM to eat
  • At 5:54 AM I begin my coffee routine and enjoying the company around me
  • Some friends come and go while I am there
  • At 8:30 AM, my friend the cook sits beside me and we talk as she eats
  • I depart the facility at about 9:05 AM heading home
  • I arrive home, post some verbiage on WordPress
  • I complete my second phase of the routine at 10:04 AM
  • I sit at the computer, drowsy, and move to the recliner
  • I hear a knock at the door at 1:09 PM UPS delivery
  • WOW, What am I? Who am I? Why am I?
  • Awake now, a second awakening, a second life for today.

The doctors

Yesterday’s doctor visit went well, just some updates and questions, and come back someday.  I did find out that the VA clinic that I go to has only one doctor on staff now.  He is a dentist.  I see a nurse practitioner when I go to the VA clinic.  They are good but most of my work is outside the VA.

Ok, today was interesting.  I am scheduled for eye surgery, the replacement of the lens in the left eye on the 2nd of January.

I also found from the test today that I am bleeding inside my right eye, I do not think it is really bad because it has before, but again, I am diabetic, doing insulin, and that is where the major concern is for now.  I have to see a Retinologist which is located in the same office as my main eye doctor.  He will decide what my next steps are and if it can be done with antibiotics or surgery of some type.

It is always something but I will go as far as I can to get back to some kind of life.  This just an update on the doctor’s visits.

A member of the routine generation

I submit myself as a member of the routine generation, and proud of it now.  What is the routine generation?  I am glad you asked that question.  As I became older my medical requirements began to control my every move.  I am up right now because of that requirement in my life.  Medicate, hesitate, eat, and move on to the next activity.  Everything is based on time and the movement of the watch or clock.  Many have asked why do you not do this or that?  Well, I so wish that was on my life schedule but it is not.

I wish it was a cyber issue and I do incorporate cyber in my life often routine controls my life.  Can you imagine Robby the Robot telling you what to do each day, kinda like the “Machine” on the TV series “A person of interest”?  Or  Matilda the robot telling you to take out the trash, do this and do that.

I am a member of the routine generation.
