United Kingdom

I am covering this country today because I have ties to it genetically.  I am kin to two kings of the past, King James I and King James II.  I have been personally to both England and Ireland, beautiful countries.  Some news about the UK is that it sees more than 60k lightning strikes during thunderstorms.

Queen Elizabeth II is the monarch, and Theresa May is the Prime Minister.  The last ruling King was George VI.  The granddaddy of all clocks is located in England and it is called Big Ben.  I might add that the United Kingdom is made up of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;  it is also just called Britain and a sovereign country in western Europe.

Switzerland is a relatively small country surrounded by more larger countries.  Switzerland is officially the Swiss Confederation and is a sovereign state in Europe.  The city of Bem is the seat of the federal authorities.  It was founded in 1291 and consist of an area of 15,940 sq miles.  Explore Switzerland holidays and discover the best time and places to visit.  It is a beautiful country and fun visits can be had.  You have the Swiss Alps and the Matterhorn to see.

I think I will do something different for a while and see how it goes.  Countries, I think will be of interest to some people.  I am starting with one that I see often Cameroon.

Officially The Republic of Cameroon is located in central Africa.  The country was founded January 1, 1960.  The area of the country is 183,569 sq miles.  The capital city is Yaoundë, the national anthem is O Cameroon, Cradle of Our Forefathers.

Farmer John and Bessy

I sit here in the comfort of the dark room, not for no real reason except I feel invisible to anyone or anything.  It is to rain all day again today and most of the rest of the week.  So, if I am not seen then I am safe in my own environment.

Did I tell you the story of old farmer John?  He used to go out during the daylight hours, get on his tractor and ride the fields alone.  He had good crops in his fields, some cattle in his pastures, and the pleasure of just relaxing on his own land.  His tractor was a nice one enclosed cab with conditioning and a radio.  He could hook a little tv up but he had no signal in his fields to make it worthwhile.  Farmer John had a small farm for the area where he lived, he had only 15,000 acres.  He paid it off a few years back, just him and his wife Bessy.

I can recall me doing similar to what Farmer John does, I use to when I was on the ship deployed go back into one of my compartments with doors opening out astern.  I had a cab that I could sit in and relax in quietness and just be alone.  Freedom is nice when it is used right.

Farmer John and Bessy would have dinner about 6 pm each day.  They would sit on the couch together and watch some TV shows, news and weather, the retire to bed.  I have no idea what they did then.

The next morning Bessy would be up and have Farmer John’s breakfast ready for him by 6 AM.  He’d eat, kiss Bessy and thank her for her love and go get his tractor and repeat his day.  Now sometime he did do things around the house just keep order.  He was a just man and liked to have all things done before he had to spend serious time in the fields.

As far as I know, Farmer John and Bessy had a long life together, a good life, church on Sundays, and town when necessary.  They were good people and the community could tell many stories about them when asked.

A defender of freedom

This is a story of a dog and a cat.  We all know that cats and dogs are not the best of friends.  I do not know if it is a fun thing or just a difference in nature.  Let’s see how it goes here.  I do not know the cat’s name so she is called cat here.

This family has a little dog which can be a very sweet dog, but by the same token, he can be a heck raiser.  The dog’s name is Buffy.  Now Buffy likes to go out in the backyard of the house and play alone and sometimes he will chase birds or squirrels but in fun, I think.  The yard, as I said, is fenced in and he has a dog house with water and a cooling system installed.  We would call him an uptown dog.

Buffy was watching the yard next door and some stray dogs were giving this cat fits.  The cat went up a tree so she would not get hurt by the dogs.  Buffy would bark at the dogs, not knowing dog language, I would hope he was saying leave that cat alone.  This bad treatment became so bad that it was going on each day.  One day Buffy got out of the fence and muddied up with the cat.  The cat took a liking to Buffy, a friend that the cat needed.  Well, the group of dogs came back to bother the cat again but was faced with Buffy being there.

Buffy, defended the ground and would not allow the cat to be harmed.  The cat felt so safe that she did not even go into the tree for safety.  Buffy and the cat became friends and Buffy’s owners adopted the cat.  The other dogs never came back to bother.  Buffy the defender of freedom.
